We had an accident

For all of you that don’t know… I had a head on accident last Sunday in the way home from a Rallysprint up North.

We (Kelly and I) were heading home. We were almost at Kelly’s house, heading down constellation drive when a car did a slingshot past another pulling directly into our path about one car length in front of us, crossing double yellow lines in the process. There wasn’t enough time to put on the brakes. We impacted dead center, and because I was towing I was in the 4WD and we had a lot of momentum on. We went up and over them pushing their engine into the firewall and smashing everything in our path. But thankfully we only just reached their windscreen before we spat them out the side and up the road. With the force of the impact the trailer came unhitched and rally car tried to come up and smash us in the rear. Thankfully we tie down our cars really well, and the safety chain is heavy-duty. But it broke the rear suspension in the car, and not to sure what else has been damaged on the car at this stage. The Honda that we hit was unrecognizable. Kelly and I were unhurt apart from bruise’s and as I turn out I received a concussion but didn’t realize at the time. They on the otherhand were not so good there was blood everywhere, the female passenger was screaming, it was blood curdling and she was also trapped for a while, I think she broke her legs, hurt her chest and she was spitting out teeth. The guy had a cut up face and I think his broke his arm. To top it all off he was driving, 17 and they think he was drunk…. Wicked. After that I absolutely wish and hope this never happens to anyone. Even at the lower speeds we were doing the impact was so hard it is indescribable. The ambulance and fire service people said that we all extremely lucky and that they couldn’t believe how little injures there were for the impact.

But my cars have been written off… so the games begin
